What is Fangirl For The Week?

Hi! My name's Grace, and if you asked me at any point over the last 6 years to define myself in one word, then I probably would have said: fangirl. But somewhere in between exam stress and taking on adult responsibilities, I stopped consuming music the way I used to — obsessively and voraciously. I no longer stayed up all night watching interviews of my favourite bands or patiently waiting for announcement countdowns to run out, and ultimately, I lost myself.

So that is why I decided to create Fangirl For The Week, a monthly Substack post and TikTok episode where I become immersed in the fandom of an artist of my choosing, in the hopes of connecting to people and music that makes me feel alive. This project is about taking fangirling seriously again and creating a community while doing so.
